David Johnson, Senior Pastor

David Johnson has been the Senior Pastor at Open Door since 1980. During his ministry tenure, the church has grown from a congregation of 160 to 3,000 regular attenders.

He takes an expository approach to the teaching of God's Word, uniting biblical truth with relevant issues in a clear and exciting way.

He co-authored the Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse, and wrote Joy Comes in the Mourning. David graduated from Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota with a B.A. in psychology. He went on to receive further theological training at both Bethel Seminary and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
