Welcome to Church of the Open Door

Thanks for checking us out. But how, in a few words can we give you a sense of who we are and where we’re going? Actually, the Apostle Paul in Phil. 3:12 helps in that regard when he says – "not that I’ve already obtained it, or have already become perfect, but I press on in order to lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus”.

Whoa – weird language! But in many ways, it captures some essential elements of our church’s identity and journey. We haven’t arrived – far from it! We don’t have all the answers – in fact, we keep discovering new questions. But at the end of the day, we are a people devoted to the process of “laying hold of” all that Christ is and calls us to be. No pretending or posturing on the way – just real people, with a real faith, in a real God, who makes a real difference, in our real life.

Open Door is not for everyone – but if you’re interested in an “honest to God” journey of faith that we believe can make us all look a lot more like the Jesus we say we follow – then welcome aboard.
