SERVE

The world invites us to live our lives for ourselves, but Jesus invites us to live for something far greater. He calls us to turn our faces outward and live for the sake of others. There are many ways to serve at Open Door and beyond.

Community Blessing

During the Christmas season an atmosphere of blessing is created as needs among the Open Door community are shared and responded to in turn. Think of how you may need support this Christmas season. This might include groceries, meals, rides, help decorating, purchasing of gifts, household preparations, repairs, help wrapping and mailing items, etc. Contact: Rose | ext 1600

Outside Our Doors

Learning to live our lives for the sake of others is a big part of becoming fully alive in God.  We are called to live our lives missionally wherever God leads us - in our families, our neighborhoods, or around the world.

Here are some of the organizations where the people of Open Door volunteer.

Short Term Mission Trips

Hurricane Response Team - Nov 2017

Open Door is sending a short term mission team to respond to the needs in Corpus Christie, TX after the devastation of Hurricane Harvey.  With help and direction from Deb Steiskal and ReachGlobal Crisis Response, the team will be serving affected families by helping to gut homes, dry-wall, painting, investing in relationships through prayer and listening,  and impact Rockport, TX with the gospel. All donations are tax deductible and help pay for travel expenses for the team as well as to help families whose homes were directly affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Haiti

Throughout the year, we send short term mission trip teams to Haiti with Beyond our Door Global. Each team has the opportunity to be with the staff and children at the Mephibosheth House and Mother Teresa orphanage. Check out Stories of Haiti for a glimpse into a recent team's experience.
