AIDS Hope/Urban Action project 
Global Impact and Metro Impact have combined efforts to raise funds for those in need in North Minneapolis and those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa.

AIDS Hope ...for those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS

Kenya Huduma Ministries - Kawangware Slum of Nairobi

• Trade Schools - providing classes in furniture building and
  dress making
• Medical Clinic - administering HIV/AIDS care, prevention
  and training
• Micro-Industry - setup costs and teaching people about effective sales and production for family income

• Preventative Care - training people in preventative care, HIV/AIDS maintenance and testing

• Micro-Industry - setup and training in honey production for
  family income
• Farming - providing animals, seed placement, training for income
• Recovery - reconciliation of abducted children
• Shelter - providing homes for grandmother- and child-headed households

• HIV/AIDS Prevention - training in prevention and maintenance in mother-to-child transmission

Urban Action ...for those struggling with the reality of crime and poverty in North Minneapolis

The Sanctuary CDC (Community Development Corporation)
Sanctuary in the Schools - mobilizes volunteers to tutor students in North Minneapolis schools

Hip-Hop Academy - educates students in the history of the movement through hands-on performance and classroom activities

Momentum - provides training in skill development, resumé writing and effective interviewing for adults in career transitions

Beautiful - invites Jr. High girls into an after-school program to form friendships and develop self-esteem, academics and healthy dating relationships

• Midnight Basketball - develops mentoring relationships with at-risk youth in a basketball practice setting
• After-School Tutoring - invites kids into a safe place
