Life is full of unexpected changes. These changes might be the death of a loved one, hospitalization, divorce, birth, serious illness or injury, or job loss. Adult Care walks alongside people who are experiencing times of transition and desire to experience God’s hope and healing.

Care Visitation Ministry
For those in need of emotional and spiritual care during hospitalization or long-term illness. This may include home communion service, home prayer visits, and hospital visits. E-mail Vicki or call ext 1305.

Resources for Life
A listing of Christian Counselors, Spiritual Directors and Retreat Centers. All those listed have been interviewed by Adult Care staff and maintain a working relationship with us. It also outlines Open Door’s standards for Pastoral appointments. Download Resources for Life (PDF), pick one up at the Welcome Place, or call ext 1331.


Support Groups
Open Door offers various support groups throughout the school year.

Prayer Ministries
Prayer Ministries provides ways, individually and corporately, to hear His voice and respond to Him. We also provide training and support for those who want to be involved in specific prayer ministries.

Caring Connections
Encouraging and supporting those within the church community, by showing love through note-writing and phone calls. Ext 1305.

Meal Ministry
The Meal Ministry prepares and brings meals to people who attend Open Door and live within an hour drive of the church. Ext 1305.

Benevolent Fund
Those who have been actively attending Open Door for a year or more and encounter short-term financial distress may receive a gift from the Benevolent Fund. This fund is sustained by donations provided by those in the Open Door community and are carefully dispersed. Donation baskets are available on the stage during monthly communion services as needed. The Benevolent Fund will be kept at a sufficient level to assist those in the Open Door community who are in need. Donations given that exceed this level may be used to meet benevolence needs beyond our community. Call ext 1335 for more information.
