Weekend Serving Opportunities

Facilities Corps
We are building a team of volunteers to help with facility needs related to Beacon Academy and other facility needs..

Lower Level Flip
Spend 2-3 hours of your time on Friday evenings (between 4pm and 8pm) and/or Sunday afternoons (1pm to 4pm) to help switch the setups from Beacon Academy to Open Door and vice versa. Duties include: setup and teardown of tables and chairs, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, moving file cabinets and desks. Minimum commitment of once a month.

Next Steps
Kiosk Volunteer
Do you love people? Do you have a desire to help people get answers and find connections? We are looking for volunteers to help create an easy, friendly, and informative place for people to explore next steps in their relationship with God and/or Open Door. Serve one weekend service per month. Scheduling is flexible. Contact Julia so we may get to know you.

Open Door 101 Volunteers
If you are a current member of Open Door who has experienced community and connection here, we’d love to have you on our Next Steps team. Serve as a facilitator and follow-up coach for a table of people participating in the Open Door 101 class. If you have a desire to see people take their next steps with God and Open Door by helping them recognize and respond to the activity of God in their lives, we’d love to talk to you. Serve during one four-week Sunday morning class or a one-day Saturday class. Contact Al.

Gathering Place & Worship Services

Bookstore Assistance
We have volunteer openings available before, during and after all three services. Shifts and duties vary and may include setup, customer service, restocking and teardown. Training is provided. Contact Dawn.

Communion Setup
We’re looking for several people to work with a Communion Team Leader to help set the front table with baskets and chalices. Commitment is 30 minutes the first Saturday of the month, every other month. Involves climbing stairs and moving throughout the Sanctuary and balcony. Contact Julia.

Ushers
Help hand out bulletins, seat people and collect the offering. Serve one weekend a month.

Coffee Crew
Help to make and serve coffee in the Gathering Place. Time commitment is one Sunday a month.

Greeters
Welcome regular attenders and visitors to our worship services with a warm greeting.
