We believe that every journey is better walked out together. And just as we, as Christians, commit ourselves to walking out the life Jesus has called us to, we are also called to commit ourselves to each other and to the mission God has set before our community. This is where membership comes in.

Open Door 101

This class is designed to clearly explain who we are and what we care about as a church. By exploring our mission, vision, values and core beliefs, we focus on who God is and what He desires for us through our relationships with God and others. Members lead table discussions and are available to help you identify ways to help you take your next steps in our community. Contact: Julia | ext 1902

One significant way of being part of the Open Door community is through officially joining us in

the struggle of becoming fully alive in God.

If you have been personally impacted by Open Door, if you believe in this place,

and if you desire to make this your church home, then we want to know you!

Open Door members agree to:

  1. Desire to follow Jesus in every area of their life, intentionally investing in their relationships with God, others and Open Door.
  2. Seek transformation in their life by attending the weekend services and engaging with the message, Connecting with others at Open Door, and through sacrificial giving.
  3. Affirm the mission and values of Open Door.
  4. Step forward to say, “Yes! You can count on me to carry this place in my heart."

To begin the process, first attend Membership Class. At the end of the class, you’ll have an opportunity to become a member.  Membership is also required for voting on all-church matters. Please register for and attend one class.

Church History

Church of the Open Door  is a non-denominational Christian church, with a former affiliation with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Since 2002, the church has been located in Maple Grove, MN. In 1980, we began to be led by the teaching of Pastor David Johnson in our small church in Crystal, MN, then met in high school gymnasiums and auditoriums until coming to Maple Grove.
