The world invites us to live our lives for ourselves, but Jesus invites us to live for something far greater.  He calls us to turn our faces outward and live for the sake of others. We call this Missional Life.

Living a missional life includes expanding your heart and mind in Jesus for the sake of others, and growing and educating yourself on God’s grieving and restorative heart for His world and children. Learning to live our lives for the sake of others is a big part of becoming fully alive in God. We are called to live our lives missionally wherever God leads us - in our families, our neighborhoods, or around the world.

SERVING LOCALLY          SERVING GLOBALLY          MISSIONAL LIVING RESOURCES

LOOKING FOR A WAY TO GET PLUGGED IN NEARBY?

The following opportunities are all located within the Twin Cities metro area.

  • MN FOODSHARE

The Minnesota FoodShare Campaign brings together organizations, businesses, faith communities, and individuals to help stock and support the capacity of nearly 300 food shelves around the state.

From March 1 - 31 our Open Door Family will be collecting food & supplies to help restock CEAP, Cross Services and MELA food shelves.

As you purchase your donation, take a moment to pray for the individuals who will be receiving them. Donations can be dropped off in the Gathering Place until March 31.

We will also be doing a competition in OD Kids to see which classroom can collect the most food. Bring your donations to church on Sunday mornings. The winning classroom will get to participate in a snack party and gym time with Pastor Dave and Sarah Pederson!

OD Students are also doing a competition to see which team can collect the most food. Students can bring donations Wednesday nights or Sundays and the team collecting the most will win a team pizza party!

You can also donate online directly to CEAP, Cross Services, and MELA's food shelf.

  • Slovakia MISSIONS TRIP

    June/july  2024

Open Door is joining GoodSports for their summer baseball / sports / English camp in Klacno, Slovakia. It’s a time to be Jesus with skin on for the youth and volunteers who come to enjoy a variety of sports, crazy camp games, campfires and conversational English.

Devotional time in the morning is enhanced with music and faith stories at evening chapel. Demonstrating God's love through interaction with campers can be life-changing for young people who often come from families that have rejected the church. It's a challenging and exhilarating time in a beautiful part of a former Communist country.
