serving LOCALLY & GLObally

Learning to live our lives for the sake of others is a big part of becoming fully alive in God.  We are called to live our lives missionally wherever God leads us - in our families, our neighborhoods, or around the world. We closely partner with a few organizations working to address the needs that people face locally and globally. We look to these partners, who have already been working in communities, to tell us what needs and service would help.

  • COMMUNITY BLESSING

During the Christmas season an atmosphere of blessing is created as needs among the Open Door community and ministry partners are shared and responded to in turn. There are two ways to participate in the Community Blessing - share a need (Nov 15-29) and respond to needs (Nov 29-Dec 13).

    SHARE A NEED:

During the Christmas season the reality of being a family is created as needs are shared and met. Think of how you may need support this Christmas season and SHARE THE UNIQUE CHALLENGES THAT YOU OR A LOVED ONE MAY BE FACING. This might include groceries, meals, rides, help decorating, purchasing of gifts, household preparations, repairs, help wrapping and mailing items, etc. There are people at Open Door that would be grateful to respond to these needs. We are collecting needs Nov 15-29.

RESPOND TO NEEDS NOV 29- DEC 13:

Community Blessings is a fun way to respond to the needs in our family and surrounding community. Below is a link to see what the needs are that have been shared this holiday season. They are also posted at church in the Gathering Place. We get to reach out and be answers to prayer for people in our community. It’s a gift to be able to share our needs and share our resources. Thanks for being in this together! RESPOND TO NEEDS HERE
