  • It’s time to spruce up our grounds! Join us for the 2nd annual “Spruce Up The Door” event. We'll be gardening, trimming, planting, weeding, putting down fresh mulch and making our church home more inviting. There’s something for everyone who can lend a hand.


    Bring any gardening equipment that you have on hand (gloves, shovels, trimmers, etc.) and a water bottle. There is specifically a need for wheelbarrows - let us know if you have one we could borrow for the day. Hot dogs and snacks provided!

  • It's not just about a donut...this weekly, sweet (pun intended) rhythm provides space for hospitality, welcome and connection! Donuts will be served outdoors, as weather permits.

    Each Sunday we need 4-6 volunteers to help with various tasks, including: setting up, serving donuts and cleaning up afterwards. Super cool apron provided. Serve once, twice or more!


  • VBS is coming to Open Door and NextKids needs some help to pull it off!

    • Bible Study HostLead students in a Bible Study activity, reinforcing the main theme/passage of each day; curriculum provided
    • Recreation Host: The VBS Phy. Ed teacher! Lead students in organized games outside
    • Craft Station Host: Lead students in the art activity for the day
    • Welcome & Check-In Volunteers: Greet students & families, check them in and help them get where they need to be
    • Snack / Mission Station Host: Fill students' bellies while sharing the mission project for the week
    • Worship Station Host: Teach VBS songs & motions to students so they can help lead the morning rally each day
    • Childcare Host: Provide childcare for young children of volunteers (ages infant-3yrs)

  • Lack of access to healthy food is always a problem for many people around the world – but even more so during a global pandemic. You can help! Have fun with family and friends by packing meals together at Feed My Starving Children (Coon Rapids location). Help restore dignity and provide nutritious meals for families while discovering how God is at work through His people around the world. Feed My Starving Children also has a marketplace where you can buy handcrafted goods that support small businesses from around the world.

  • Open Door is going out and about to bring God’s love to the world through building relationships, fostering community, and getting to know neighbors through community service projects, social gatherings, cross cultural events, etc. By providing a number of $100 microgrants, Open Door wants to support the ways God is stirring in you to be salt and light to the world. As God prompts you to put action to your vision, apply for an Out & About Microgrant. Projects should be completed by October 31.

  • As a church family we want to be a part of and contribute to the Maple Grove community. Volunteering at Maple Grove Days is one way we can do that! There are lots of ways to serve including set-up or teardown, check-in, helping run bingo/games/silent auctions, being a parking attendant and more! We’d love to inundate them with volunteers from our church family, so grab a friend (or three!) and sign-up to serve! There is a volunteer role for all.

  • Open Door is joining Food for the Hungry in Guatemala to support a community called Caserio Lopez. While there we will be running a vacation Bible school for community children and introducing small water filtration systems to homeowners, teaching them how to use and maintain the systems. Added bonus: we’ll have an opportunity to meet children sponsored by the Open Door family!

  • Who doesn’t love a good summer evening bonfire?! Lawn games, a giant cooler and fireside snacks will await you at the Open Door firepit. Bring your favorite unique s’mores topping!

  • Join with other men as we study God’s Word and are encouraged through community and connection. We are currently exploring our relationship with God through a study focused on the questions God asks of us.


    If you are looking to grow in your relationship with God with a group of guys trying to do the same, join us Wednesday mornings for study and discussion. Walk-ins welcome.

  • This 7-session, in-depth Bible study explores the question, "How do I actually pray well?" through examining specific prayers found throughout Scripture. We’ll encounter five key types of prayer: confession, concern, lament, praise and intercession. Through personal reflection, group discussion and teaching, participants will seek to understand how elements of these biblical prayers can be applied to our prayer lives today.

  • Have fun and put some miles in by joining the Open Door Bike Club! You'll build relationships and increase your heart rate as we tour the many scenic, paved bike trails and parks around the Twin Cities metro area. All skill and endurance levels are welcomed. Come with an expectation to engage and connect with others!


    Bring your bike, helmet, water bottle and comfortable riding clothes. If it's been a while since you've ridden, we recommend test-driving your bike prior to joining to take care of any mechanical issues before you hit the trail. Please, no motorized or e-bikes. No commitment required. Ride once or throughout the summer!

  • Cold drinks AND a mission? Yes please!


    On Sunday, June 12th, stay after the gathering for a special “The Donut Moment” and iced coffee fundraiser benefitting Next Generation Kids and Youth! The proceeds will help Next Generation host neighbors and friends for our summer Vacation Bible School at no cost and provide scholarship funds for student trips and activities. We never want cost to keep our next generation of young people from connecting with God and each other! Cash, check or online donations (and prayers) will be gladly accepted!

  • The donuts are coming BACK! Each Sunday following the gathering, we will have donuts available. Feel free to slow down, stay a little while, enjoy the company of others and meet someone new! And remember…it’s not just a donut…it’s a conversation starter!

  • Ever wish you could have a donut moment right in your front yard? Now you can! Introducing: The Donut Moment Pop-Up.


    As we lean into the practice of hospitality as a church family, we encourage you to invite your neighbors and friends to your lawn for your very own Donut Moment Pop-Up. Reserve a date and time and we’ll show up with the people to serve, the tent, the aprons and the donuts right to your door! All you need to do is sign-up and invite your neighbors and friends.

  • Join other young adults for a fun night of hanging out in the backyard! There will be a few organized games for those that love a little competition and a bonfire for those that like to chill.   • Spark imagination and kick creativity into high gear this summer at Spark Studios Vacation Bible School. Kids will discover that their creativity is a gift from the infinitely creative Creator who designed them for His glory. God’s creativity didn’t stop in Genesis! The Master Artist is working to redeem, reclaim, and transform us — His creation — to the original design He planned for us. Kids will see the beautiful truth that they are God’s workmanship as they learn to use their talents to bring glory to Him. Invite a friend (or two) and join us for a week of scripture, imagination, games, snacks and creativity!

  • Gather your crew, invite friends, pack up your tent and sleeping bags, and come camp at the Door! We’ll have fun together playing under the stars and listening to the creatures at the pond as we fall asleep. Bring a picnic dinner and drinks. We'll provide some group activities, a camping snack and breakfast. This is a great way to meet other families with kids from Open Door!

  • Students completing 6th – 12th grade are invited to leave home, camp at Open Door and be a part of our "A Work of Love" (AWOL) team!


    AWOL is an opportunity to serve and love our neighbors at the Dayton Mobile Home Park by leading a vacation Bible school, sharing meals, and doing fun activities with kids from the park. In the evenings we head out for fun with teen peers from Dayton!


    If you love kids, want to grow in leadership, can be flexible and teachable and love to have fun...this trip is for you!

    God & Friend Time is for you! Come have a snack and hang out with God, leaders, and friends on summer Thursdays from 1-3pm at Open Door where we’ll apply the biblical book of James to our actual lives. Can’t come every week? No problem! We’d love to see you at any you can attend!
